Guest Post and Giveaway My Brother, My Rival (Book#1) by Eve Rabi

Description:

Cody Garrett, a former Navy SEAL, has never met a skirt he didn’t fancy. His six-pack, rugged looks and bad boy image, ensures a steady stream of hot babes waiting to slip him their phone numbers wherever he goes.

So, he is confused when Bridie Barker refuses to go on a date with him. It’s not like she’s a stunning beauty or something. According to him, her ears are big, she’s well-rounded and she’s not even a ‘d’ cup.

In spite of her shortcomings, the more she pushes him away, the more he finds himself thinking of her.

Bridie Barker has control issues, every detail in her life is planned. Her closet is color-coded and she has an array of storage contains so that nothing is out of place. Her whole world is black and white and grey areas are a no-no. She prefers it that way, it keeps her focused and prevents her from becoming the crackhead her mother was.

When she meets the refined, yet warm and grounded Scott Garrett, she thinks she has found her soul mate. Unfortunately, and to her disappointment, things don’t pan out with Scott.

While waiting tables, she has a disastrous run-in with his brother, the wild Cody Garrett, King of Body Shots and who parties every night with a different girl. Even though he’s good to look at and makes her laugh, she turns down his advances as he’s clearly the tag-and-release kind of guy, while she doesn’t believe in one night stands, no matter how meaningful they are.

Besides, she is pretty sure he owns not a single storage container and she certain that his closet is not color-coded. Problem is, Cody Garrett won’t take no for an answer.

My Brother, My Rival is a sexy, modern-day, drama-laden love story that will have you laughing, crying and gasping with disbelief, as the story unfolds.

GUEST POST
Wanting what you can not have

CODY GARRETT:
I was good looking, fearless, an achiever and women, well, let’s just say, I never had to look for a date and had endless booty call numbers on speed dial. I was well stocked in that department and I was content with my life.

Okay, I know I sound egotistical, but I’m not tooting my own horn; I’m just stating the facts.

When you’re a good looking male (or female), you want more than good looks in a partner.

Yeah sure you don’t want fugly, nobody does, but you figure you have beauty enough for two people, so you want the unattainable, you want intrigue and most of all, you want a chase.

The chase becomes a game in itself and who doesn’t want to win in a game?

Bridie may have been impressed with me to a degree, yeah, but the fact that she was not going gaga over me, not wanting to take a body shot off my amazing abs, and not wanting to date me, confused the hell out of me.

It was like, hello, what have we here? Who have we here? Who does she think she is?

After the confusion wore off, intrigue and curiosity followed and gnawed at me.

Banner 2 my brother my rival 14 oct 13Why not me?
If not me, then who?
What did the other guy have that I didn’t? Wasn’t I the complete package plus?

Had she any idea how many women would give their …?
(Shallow, I know, but that’s how good looking people are usually wired. Usually.)

Man, those questions plagued me and I wanted answers. Loosely interpreted, I wanted her, I wanted stuck-up Bridie.

I started looking in the mirror more. Was I looking my hair? My edge? My mojo? My ability to pull chicks?
She ruined things for me – when chicks started to come on to me, I grew irritated with them simply because they were not Bridie.
The more she rejected me, the more attractive she became in my eyes, and I started to fantasize about her. Maybe she was a great kisser? Maybe she was the type to shed her sensible clothes only to reveal…I don’t know; some crotch-less underwear or something?

The bigger my maybes, the more I desired Bridie.

The best way to get a guy (you didn’t hear this from me) is to make contact with him, then insult the shit out of him. Or pay attention to his friend. Fighting with a sexy girl can be very…sexy.
It’s important to first make contact, showcase yourself to the best of your ability then step back.
The guy has to know what he’s missing.
I’m not saying you must flash your silicones in his face or something; I’m saying subtle but carefully calculated moves, like locking eyes for a few moments, a soft laugh at something he said, a slight touch on the arm, a compliment followed by an insult to unhinge him. Those kind of things.

You don’t have to be the best looking chick around. After five minutes with a good looking chick, you’re bored. It’s like looking at a beautiful vase. After a while, you walk past it without a second glance.
But a sexy, fiery chick, now that’s a different story. As you look at her, she becomes beautiful and intriguing.
To me, rejection to me is the biggest aphrodisiac. You never forget the girl who rejected you. Never.
With Bridie, the girl who rejected me, I am never bored, I’ve seen her at her worst and I found that even that side is beautiful. She is the gun to my holster.
Time away from Bridie is just …painful. One of my fears is a world without Bridie in it.

I love sibling rivalry romances! So much tension. I will have to be honest. The name, Bridie, is KILLING me! Just can't stand it!

Action, laughter, highly combative dialog - all seem to fill the pages of this book and are all my favorite things to read in any genre of romance. I bought book One right after reading the excerpt and can't wait to send my children off to school so I can start reading!
