Guest Post and Giveaway Inner Core (Stark #2) by Sigal Ehrlich

Published: January 2014

Description:

When Hayley makes a resolution to take back the control over her life, and declare their relationship R.I.P, it’s all good in theory…

That is until Daniel decides to prove her wrong and get her back.

Together, Hayley and Daniel seem to have it all. But can love ever be enough when two strong personalities collide and while reality takes the lead?

Faced with more obstacles than she could have ever bargain for when it comes to Daniel, struggling to keep her own identity while sharing a life with her man. Buds of doubt start rooting in Hayley’s confidence, making her rethink her decision.

And just when it seems that they might make it together after all, life happens. Bringing a threat that neither Hayley nor Daniel could ever anticipate, a threat that could break them apart forever . . .

GUEST POST
Passion, Lust, Love - same thing, or one can exist without others, in literature and/or life

I’m hardly an expert on the subject, to put mildly, but here are my thoughts on how I interpret it while writing romance.

I believe that both in life and in literature, passion and lust can certainly exist without love, but in love’s case, I do believe both passion and lust take a great part.

In my view, as better and greater wrote before me, there are three stages a couple should go through in order to reach, what we call “real love”:
1. Sensual drive and attraction, aka, Lust
2. Attraction, pull, aka, Passion
3. Idealizing, attachment, aka, Love

The simple definition of love is having feelings of attachment and attraction. Lust and passion are clearly incorporated in what the great ol’ love stands for.

To further distinguish and elaborate on the bond between the three, and to better illustrate the fundamentals of this statement, I’ll use Daniel’s and Hayley’s journey to love.

The route Hayley takes through Layers and Inner Core, is a path that begins with passion and lust, which eventually evolves into love.
“Let’s put it this way: I wasn’t the relationship type all through my teens and early twenties, though I did enjoy sex.” Hayley, Inner Core
When we first meet Hayley she enjoys a loose, carefree lifestyle. As the story progresses and she meets Daniel, there are undeniably sparks of raw, primal attraction between them. Both feel a desperate physical need toward one another. Both feel lust and passion, the love is obviously not there…yet.
“Next, to my complete surprise, he stands up and slowly but confidently starts sauntering toward me. Before I can grasp his intentions, I find him leaning his hip on the desk next to me, his knee almost brushing mine. Too close. My heart threatens to leap out of my chest as I gape up at his intent stare, staggered. His eyes hover over my face till they land on my lips, which traitorously part. The air is literally yanked out of my lungs at the lengthy pause of his stare on my mouth.” Hayley, Layers
“When she said that provocative “fuck me”, even before she turned and I was able to see her face, I already wanted her buck naked and bent over the counter.” Daniel, Layers
As they begin their passionate, lustful affair they gradually fall in love, which rapidly evolves to an all-consuming one.
“These exact feelings, which make me want to run as far as I can with all my strength and not look back are those same ones that will never let me leave, and make me love him wildly.” Hayley, Inner Core.
“You, Hales, I don't just love you. I lust you, crazily. I adore you. I think you are the most amazing person on this fucking planet… I’m not sure how to categorize or name what I feel for you, but I’m more than certain about what I want to do with these feelings.” Daniel, Inner Core.
As I see it, love takes control of your body and mind while passion and lust take control of your desires, in a primal manner. Nevertheless, without the ingredient of lust and passion we might not reach that oh-so-sought-for feeling of utter bliss, also known as heart racing love.

It was Esther Perel who said it best:
“Love and desire, they relate but they also conflict and herein lies the mystery of eroticism.”
Author's Giveaway:
By teen age, Sigal already lived in three different continents where she had the luck to experience and visit varied places, meet unique people, which only helped fuel her overly developed imagination. Currently, Sigal calls Estonia home where she lives with her husband and three kids.

Not exactly sure where they will end up next…

When she is not hiding in her office, writing, she enjoys music, reading and taking care of her little clan.

With a great believe in "don’t wait for things to happen - make them happen," she enjoys anything exciting life has to offer.

When you have two strong characters the hero and the heroine, the story has chemistry and excitement. I love it when both characters realized that they are two halves of a whole.
