Interview and Giveaway: Eternal Mixture by Shevaun Delucia

Description:

If you had the chance to start your life over, would you take it? If you were told you would live for eternity, would you embrace it? If a stranger told you he was your soul mate, would you believe it?

Raina Richmond has played it safe her entire life. She has never broken the rules. That is, until Brent Alexander walked straight into her life, causing havoc. Turning her world upside down.

Brent is the new kid in town. He is every girl’s fantasy: adorable, charming, chiseled, and the typical boy Raina usually steers clear of. But there is just something about him she can’t seem to resist. Safe is no longer an option for her. For him, she breaks all the rules.

What she doesn’t realize is that he holds the key to her past, present, and future. Once he reveals the reasons behind their irrevocable connection, she will unlock the answers to all of her questions, and her life as she knows it will never be the same again.

MB's INTERVIEW
Thank you, Mrs. Shevaun Delucia
Why Young Adult? And what made you want to change the course and write an adult romance?
I absolutely love the age where you’re discovering yourself and the world around you—when you’re almost an adult, but not quite there. It’s a time when you fight for independence, but still depend on others for support and guidance. The young adult years are full of firsts: first relationships, first kisses, first loves. They are filled with moments that we all wish we could experience all over again for the first time, and by writing young adult fiction, I get to do just that.

Though I adore young adult, I also love delving into adult romance. I think the adult relationship between a man and a woman is very complex and amazingly beautiful. I enjoy not having to hold back in my thoughts and writing. It’s exciting and downright naughty, but that’s why it’s called adult romance!

What is hardest to achieve when you write a fantasy story and how do you do it?
I’m not a kid anymore, so fantasy doesn’t always come as easily to me, but I do love the thought of the impossible. Vampires, werewolves, and living for eternity are all things that consume my creative side. I write what I love, and I would love to come across one of these make-believe creatures in real life. But, then again, who said they’re make-believe? Just because we haven’t come across one of these beings, doesn’t mean they’re not real, right? Lol. This is how I write fantasy. The impossible is always possible.

What do you think about the idea of an “eternal soul mate”? And how did you convey it for to be believable?
The idea of an eternal soul mate is extraordinary and magical. I think most people would love to believe that there is one person in this world that is meant solely for them, and because of this tiny romantic hope, it’s not that hard to make the idea believable. Some people believe there is only one soul mate for each of us, and some people believe there are multiple soul mates for each of us. It all comes down to belief, which is the first step towards possibility. I am most definitely a believer.

What we will find in Eternal Mixture?
You will find a love story that is beautifully pure and romantic, friendships that are full of strength and loyalty, and, of course, some suspense and hot-n-sexiness on a strictly PG level.

If a stranger told you he was your soul mate, would you believe it? Why?
Oh boy! If I wasn’t married, he would need to have some convincing, solid proof behind his claim. Of course, if he looked like Channing Tatum, there would be no need for convincing! Lol.

About the author:
Shevaun DeLucia lives in upstate New York with her husband, four children, and two dogs. As a stay-at-home mom while her children were young, she fell in love with reading. She indulged in the small moments that took her away from the reality of her loud, overly rambunctious household, bringing her into a world of fantasy. When reading wasn’t enough to satisfy her, she turned to writing, determined to create the perfect ending of her own.
