Sometimes Love Isn't Enough... - Say Something series by Brandy Jellum

"I loved the plot it was brilliant, I was hooked throughout. There were lots of twists and turns and I was kept guessing what was happening. Just when I thought I had things sussed something would happen that changed my mind. I loved Reid and Liza. They had great chemistry and banter. What I loved about this one was the suspense aspect. I really enjoyed it and kept me guessing who was the bad guy. " - Goodreads, Cheryl

Description:

If I Say Yes

Elizabeth Lewis was the child of Hollywood’s darling couple, until her father murdered her mother. Six years later, she has traded her flashy, luxurious lifestyle for one of safe anonymity as a literary agent. With a different name and appearance, Liza Winter is living the life of her dreams—one where she’s known for who she is instead of what her father did. Except her apartment should be condemned, her car only starts when it wants, she hates the romance genre she has been assigned, and the CEO’s deliciously attractive nephew is out to ruin her carefully laid plans.

Reid Harder has never met an obstacle he couldn’t overcome. When his new position in the romance department comes with a benefit his uncle didn’t mention, he decides to wage a war against the intelligent, beautiful Liza to destroy every argument she has for turning him down. Still, the closer he gets to winning the prize, the more he realizes that the woman is keeping secrets that may endanger not just her life but his. Will Liza overcome her mistrust of Reid to reveal her secrets before he learns the truth and walks away? Or will a grudge-wielding apparition from her past make her the next deadly Hollywood headline?

If I Say No

Reid Harder thought his life was seemingly perfect. He had the woman he loved and nothing could go wrong. The only exception comes in the form of his brother—Rhett.

Set on revenge, his brother will stop at nothing to make Reid pay for his past mistakes. Teaming up with the FBI, Reid is determined to put an end to his brother once and for all. But sometimes, fate has other plans in store. His relationship with Liza is falling apart, enemies become friends, and family becomes his worst nightmare. With the future unknown, Reid must figure out a way to make amends with his past if he wants to move forward with his future.

GUEST POST
3 Tips About Writing

So, you want to write? Don’t and don’t know where to begin? Stuck and can’t move forward? I’ve been there, more than once, and have received some great advice along the way. Writing is a scary and intimidating thing, but it should also be fun. Most days, people have such high expectations in this field, and ultimately, are disappointed. I’ve been there too, but I’m starting to loosen up, and so should you. Check out these tips I’d advise when it comes to writing.

1) JUST START WRITING- This applies to everyone. Whether you’re starting new, working on your first ever story, or even if you’ve written a hundred books. My advice is just start writing. Who cares what it is, where it leads, or if it even pertains to what you’re working on. As long as you’re writing something- you’re writing, right? Sometimes, staring at the illuminated computer screen can be frightening, and you sit there for hours- fingers hovering over the board or hitting the backspace one to many times. The best advice I can give you is to just start writing- that’s what I did my first time around. I wrote a 140K of pure garbage my first time around, and I hated it. But it opened so many doors for me, and now, the blank page isn’t as intimidating as it once was.

2) KEEP WRITING- Whatever you do, keep writing. If you’re feeling stuck, move onto something else. The more you sit there and dwell, the longer you’re going to be there. Take it from someone who spent three hours staring at nothing, trying to figure out where to go next, and fighting every urge to pull out my hair. But if you keep writing, you start to form a habit, one that keeps you going every day. Taking breaks are good, especially between books, but if you stop for 2…3….10 days just because you’re not sure what’s coming next…it’s only going to get harder. Even if you don’t work on your current manuscript, just write. Whether it’s in a journal, a bunch of nonsense, or a new project- do it. After a day or so, without even realizing it, that idea you were stuck on…it’s going to hit you like a ton of bricks. So just keep pushing forward…keep writing.

3) DON’T OVERANALYZE- My biggest problem when it comes to writing is this, I overanalyze and second guess myself. It’s natural. I’m sure if you asked all authors, they’d probably say something along the same line. It’s normal to second guess yourself or your work. I’m not saying don’t. What I’m saying is don’t OVERANALYZE everything. When you do that, it will consume you. It will take over your life, your mind- everything. That one scene you’re stress about and can’t move on from- don’t worry about it now. Take a moment to think what could be better, if nothing comes to mind, move on with the story. There’s time to worry about it later. There’s a reason why it’s called the “sh**ty first draft”. It’s not supposed to be perfect. It’s supposed to be rough, it’s supposed to be a load of crap, it’s the bones of the story. After you get the bones set, then you focus on building the rest of the body. And besides, your editor, (which I HIGHLY recommend hiring one!), can help you work those kinks out. It might even take a few rounds to get it the way you picture in your head, but that’s alright. Just don’t overthink it, don’t stress, and don’t OVERANALYZE. Things will work themselves out in the end.

About the author:
Brandy’s passion for writing began long before she actually sat down to write. As a child, she has had an obsession with reading, everything from the classic stories by Jane Austen to YA Fiction by Richelle Mead. Finally, in 2012, she decided to create her own stories for people to fall in love with. Brandy bounces back and forth writing both Romance and Young Adult Fiction (which is mainly just for fun).

At the beginning of 2014, Brandy signed a contract with publishing company Booktrope. She is very excited about the next chapter of her life and cannot wait to share her books and passion with readers.

When she isn’t writing, she can be found chasing after her husband, her four children and her black lab, Diesel. Or curled up on her favorite corner of the couch with her newest book.
