heroines who come to the rescue - Omega (The Infinity Division #2) by Jus Accardo

"Such an awesome sequel.
Much like in Infinity, the characters shine in Omega, but this time they’re dealing with a slightly more complex situation. [...] Accardo’s style is consistent, pleasant to read, and I can’t wait to see what she’ll bring plot-wise in the next one." - Hristina, Goodreads

Infinity

Jump dimensions. Find the bad guy. Don’t fall in love.

Nobody said being the daughter of an army general was easy. But when her dad sends a teenage subordinate to babysit her while he’s away? That’s taking it a step too far.

Cade, as beautiful as he is deadly, watches Kori with more than just interest. He looks at her like he knows her very soul. And when he saves her from a seemingly random attack, well, that’s when things get weird.

Turns out, Kori’s dad isn’t just an army general—he’s the head of a secret government project that has invented a way to travel between parallel dimensions. Dimensions where there are infinite Koris, infinite Cades…and apparently, on every other Earth, they’re madly in love.

Falling for a soldier is the last thing on Kori’s mind. Especially when she finds herself in a deadly crossfire, and someone from another Earth is hell-bent on revenge…

Omega

Published: August 1st, 2017

One mistake can change everything. Ashlyn Calvert finds that out the hard way when a bad decision leads to the death of her best friend, Noah Anderson.

Only Noah isn’t really gone. Thanks to his parents’ company, the Infinity Division, there is a version of him skipping from one dimension to another, set on revenge for the death of his sister, Kori. When a chance encounter brings him face-to-face with Ash, he’s determined to resist the magnetic pull he’s felt for her time and time again. Because falling for Ash puts his mission—and their lives—in danger.

But there’s more going on in Ash’s alternate universe than either of them knows: a mysterious project called Omega. A conspiracy spanning multiple Earths and revolving around none other than Ash. Its creators would do anything to keep Omega secret…

Anything.

GUEST POST

I always find it surreal when I stop to think about it. My first book, TOUCH, came out at the end of 2011. Pretty much three months shy of six years now.

I remember multiple people telling me at the time that the book would never sell. Other than the fact that it didn’t fit with the current market trends (I can’t even remember what those were at this point), I was told the heroine was too ‘rough’. She didn’t need the hero. Before that book found a home with Entangled Publishing, it was strongly recommended that I soften her up and dumb her down a little—and I refused.

Dez, the main character is a street smart girl with the ability to save herself. No White Knight needed. She curses when she’s angry, is comfortable with her body, and yes, she’s been to a party and tossed back a few with her friends. This was the kind of character you hardly saw in young adult literature when that book came out.

Since Dez, I’ve written that same heroine in one form or another. They’re all different. Their own personalities and flaws, but the one thing they all share is the ability to take charge and save themselves.

In the first book of the Infinity Division series, Infinity, our main girl Kori’s life is in danger. When told to leave it to someone else to take care of, to take cover and wait it out, she refuses. Her life? Her problem. She has no intention of leaving her fate to someone else.

In the second book, Omega, Ash, one of the main characters, is from a world very different from our own. It’s cruel and harsh and she’s had it rough from the start. The things Ash has had to deal with are dark and could easily have destroyed a person—but she’s fought her way through.

She will always fight her way through.

We’ve come a long way since my first book came out. Things have changed. We’ve moved away from the needy, weak females who couldn’t walk out the door even when the bad guy left it unlocked, toward showcasing smart, capable heroines who come to the rescue.
