Description:

Release Date: September 14th, 2017

THE ONLY PERSON I’VE EVER LOVED was taken from me during the first reaping several months ago. I don’t know how, or why, but something changed inside me, turning me into something I never knew existed. Sasha came into my life and saved me, teaching me to use the powers I’d known so little about. But saving me wasn’t her end goal. She handed me over to the Fallen like I meant nothing to her, and now, revenge is all I see. Destroying those who screwed me fills my every thought but there’s one thing standing in my way. He came along and became the one Fallen I don’t think I can live without.

TROUBLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN HER NAME. When I found her planting a bomb on the compound, I threw her in a cell, leaving her the option to cooperate or starve. I should kill her and put an end to the suffering she’s determined to impose on all of us, but there’s just something about her that keeps holding me back. The friction between us is explosive. I can’t resist her when she gets that look in her eye, and she damn well knows it.

EXCERPT

Leaning over the ledge, I see Amelia pop out of the water and I breathe a sigh of relief before jumping in after her. I come up out of the water right next to her and she startles, splashing me in the face—as if that would scare off an attacker.

We swim to where we can touch, and I turn to check on her. “Are you okay?”

She nods. “I lost my footing.”

Smiling, I pull a twig from her damp hair. “I see that.” I show her the stick and drop it in the water as she giggles. My body reacts to her laugh and before I know it, I’m putting my arm around her, pulling her close. I don’t know why I do it, but something about her soaking wet skin against mine makes me want to have more and more of her touching me.

Amelia sucks in a breath as her legs wrap around me. She stares deep into my eyes, biting her lip. Her half-lidded eyes are a sign she’s affected by the erection now hardening between us.

One of her hands is on my shoulder and the other is holding onto my bicep that’s flexing as I hold her to me. Her hand moves to my face and she brushes her thumb across my bottom lip, before pulling my head down and pressing her lips against mine.

The kiss is soft, tentative at first, until she realizes I’m not going to be the one to stop this. I walk us to the cliff overhang and press her against the natural stone wall. I release my grip on her, allowing my pelvis to hold her up.

I pull my lips from hers and suckle down her jawline and neck. Amelia lets out a breathy moan when I find a sweet spot near her collarbone. She moves one of her hands to my neck and arches her back, pushing her breasts up, while rubbing her center against the length of my cock. I’m completely hard now; there is no doubt she can feel it.

“Lucas.” She groans, and my name on her sexually charged tongue is almost my undoing.

I pull down the collar of her shirt, trailing kisses along the tops of her perky breasts. She pulls away and I look up to see what’s changed. Amelia’s holding her arms high above her head, smiling with sweet seduction. Tentatively, I place my hand under the hem of her shirt. Chloe always undressed herself, so this is the first time I’ve had to take a woman’s shirt off with only one hand.

Her shirt gets caught on her right side, as I lift it on the left. Dragging my hand across her belly, I lift the left side and the right falls a little. Her stomach quakes as my hand moves from side to side. I get my mouth involved, using it to hold the front of her shirt up high. It takes longer than if I had both hands, but Amelia is patient and each brush against her skin has her trembling.

Finally, the shirt is off and her breasts are on display for my perusal. She doesn’t wear a bra and I am so thankful for that. I throw her shirt on a nearby rock and look over every square inch of her beautiful body. My eyes make their way to hers, silently asking for permission to touch what I’ve uncovered, but she isn’t looking at me—not at my face anyway. Her eyes are currently glued on the white shirt plastered to my chest.

About the author:
I love to read, write, and go camping, especially if it's near a beach somewhere. My furbabies and hubby love the water and so do I! We go camping whenever we can and have a blast cuddling by the fire, eating s’mores and listening to the waves crash against the shore.

Reading is a long-time passion of mine and I’ve always had trouble ending the books when I close them. Characters and scenarios would flow through my mind, further keeping me from much needed sleep. After a time, my own characters began running through my head, demanding to have their stories told.

I am the author of the Ascent series, my first published novel is The Ascension of Laney, a New Adult Paranormal Romance.
